The Stairs

Chosen Stairs

The above sketch aligns for Mountain and Moon's studio. The staircase revolves around luxury, regality, grandness, and wealth, as by the client's jewellery production.

The word which inspired the stair, discovery, enabled me to construct this triple split staircase. Each path leads to a different room which has different roles.

To the left, the wall which blocks the fragmented staircase suggests the discovery of the unknown. This is the ideas workshop of Mountain and Moon; where new products are made - hence an unclear metaphor of new production.

The middle staircase is a clear open path where people can see what is ahead of them - the path right to Mountain and Moon's studio. This is visible and obvious to the eye - hence the openness of it.

To the right, the staircase curves right, to a different, higher room. This is the finishing room - hence why it is also tucked away in a different room.

The above staircase is for The Kyza's car production studio. The word which inspired this, machine,  enabled me to construct a stair revolving around a large drill piece. Due to the studio being underground, I was motivated by underground machines. Each tread is made of nuts and bolts - so all parts are forming a semi-metaphorical giant machine - a production line which creates the cars. The stairs are on the drill leading up to the showroom.
